The world is changing everyday, and amongst all the bad news, sometimes we hear about some stuff that works for the betterment of society and this is one of them! 🙂

The Gujarat Government seems to be waking up towards the idea of banning Single-use disposable plastic. And after Maharashtra, many cafes and clubs have banned the use of single use plastic straws. Not only India, many countries like the UK,  USA and EU have taken strong steps towards #noplasticstraws

Even everyone’s favorite, the international coffee giant – Starbucks is working towards eliminating plastic straws from its 28,000 locations globally.

So it’s time that Ahmedabad (which just happens to be EcoRight’s home city!), the largest city and the former capital of the Indian state of Gujarat, takes on the no straw challenge and pledge to contribute towards the protection of our environment.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has already issued the notice to ban straws, they’re all set to seize banned plastic items and destroy them. Straws are one of the biggest polluters and like plastic bags, some of the easiest things to give up.

Here are some remarks after Ban:

Deval says: We can preserve the environment by decreasing plastic consumption as much as possible. There are various alternatives to plastic straws like bamboo straws, metal straws, glass straws and paper straws. Our little efforts will help leave a healthy planet for the future generations.

Let us know how you’re stopping the use of plastic straws in your lives. Share a photo of yours on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and tag us telling us your story of stopping plastic and stand a chance to win a sturdy grocery shopping bag from https://www.ecorightbags.com/
